iv. OK, enough of these ridiculous on-topic questions. What do you do for fun?

  1. What kind of music do you people listen to?
Good question. What kind of music do we listen to? Fortunately, we ('we' being me and Strowbridge) expected your question and have already conducted a poll. Here's the general breakdown:

As you can plainly see, most of us (Well, half of those who voted) prefer Classical music. Other popular choices were rock, metal and alternative. Another choice was "Whatever suits my senses". Incidentally, here's a
    list of our favorite bands.

  2. Which of the summer 2000 blockbusters do you think will bomb?
I couldn't even begin to tell you since I have no idea what to expect. But, the general consensus among many of us is that there will be three bombs: Battlefield Earth, Mission Impossible 2, and X-Men.

We went about two for three. Battlefield Earth hit theaters on May 12. It sucked. Scientologists suck. L. Ron Hubbard sucks. And John Travolta is a big fruit. This was the worst movie ever made in the history of the planet.

Mission Impossible II was typical John Woo fare: violence, guns, fire, violence, repetitive symbolism, violence, odd camera angles, and violence. It is enjoyable insofar as you enjoy mindless violence.

Reviews for X-Men were pretty good, actually. Many people said it was faithful to the comic book, well-acted, and well made with good special effects. Also, most have said that the character personalities were true to the comics as well and that Patrick Stewart did a good job as Professor Xavier. Having seen it recently myself on DVD with added scenes, I'd tend to agree: it was a good movie.

  3. If you could only read books by one author, who would it be?
The most popular answers include J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings), Tom Clancy (Various political/conspiracy dramas), Robert A. Heinlein (Starship Troopers and others), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game), Terry Pratchett (Discworld novels), Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Frank Herbert (Dune) and Isaac Asimov (Various sci-fi short stories and novels).

  4. What TV shows do you try and never miss?
Me? Stargate SG-1. Though it's hard to tear yourself away from watching scrambled porn.

  5. What TV shows do you hate so much you think the creators should be sterilized so they can't pass their genes on to future generations?
The unanimous answers to this question were Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, creators of Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise.

  6. Do you guys drink a lot?
Yeah, and it's taking off like a motherfucker.
