Subject: [REVIEW] The Crazy Review, #5 Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2001 00:24:11 -0700 From: "Crayz9000" Newsgroups: alt.startrek.vs.starwars The Crazy Review #5: The Four Horsemen "Another flight of X-Wings roared overhead, their laser cannons spitting death. An AT-AT lay burning, it's head blown off by a well placed concussion missile. Sergeant Falkenhorst ducked back into his slit trench as something exploded nearby. Down the trench was the remainder of his squad. The fighting on Bastion had been especially hard, taking his men one by one. The entire planet was a charnel house. The Republic's long campaign against the Imperial Remnant was finally winding down, with the Starfleet escaping to parts unknown under Admiral Sheppard, and Republic forces landing on most of the remaining Imperial worlds. Shouts and blaster fire pulled him back to the present." Judging from the first paragraph, this fanfic, posted in December of 2000, is set in a universe closely parelleling Imperial Phoenix, much like Rasputin and many other ASVS Fanfics. But it has a completely different twist to it... The Four Horsemen is the tale of four Imperial Stormtroopers, who, upon their (near-death?) at the hands of the Republic forces, are sucked into Hell. There, Satan asks them to do him a little favor: open up a gate into the mortal world for him to enter. They're unceremoniously dumped onto a Federation starship, which contains a person who can open the gate... ====== Name: The Four Horsemen Author: Col. Falkenhorst Location: http://www.daltonator.net/fanfics/stories/horsemen.txt Overall Rating: 85 / 100 Storyline: 100 / 100 Development: 70 / 100 Balance: N/A; how the hell do you compare a starship to a stormtrooper? Comments: This fic might not be all that accurate (huh? replicating transwarp and isokinetic cannons?), at least in technical terms, but it makes for some great reading. At least if you want to see Janeway & Co. tortured by TOWNMNBS :) The fic also shows the damage Voyager could do, if it was not in the hands of an incompetent captain. It's also pretty funny, although it could use a quick spell-check. -- Crayz9000 - [http://crayz9000.htmlplanet.com] - mhm28x12 Cybernetic Crow
